Success Is An Attitude

Attitude of Success
It was Richard Bach who said: “Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can”. So what about you – Do you think you can win? Because believing in yourself is the cornerstone to making your aspirations of success in business a reality. You need to believe in yourself enough to back yourself. Everything in life that is worth anything requires risk. Muhammad Ali, someone who wore the attitude of success extremely well, said: “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life”. That risk is all but eliminated, however, when you make yourself odds-on favourite to win. Witness again the great boxer, who definitely stacked the odds in his favour by stating to the world in general and his own sub-conscious belief system in particular: “I am the greatest… Don’t tell me I can’t do something. Don’t tell me it’s impossible. Don’t tell me I’m not the greatest. I’m the double greatest.”
Backing yourself to win is your job, it is nobody else’s. It is not somebody else’s job to back the opportunity as a winner, it is your job to back yourself as the winner. You need to believe in yourself enough to turn the ‘impossible’ into ‘I’m possible’. In this life you have to be your own hero. Sure you can reach out and surround yourself by other heroes, people who are willing to pull you up not push you down. But ultimately, we owe our best effort to ourselves. Nobody in this life ‘owes’ you anything. We owe it to ourselves to be the best that we can be, and that starts with wearing the right attitude. Just as the clothes we put on will fundamentally affect our mood and go a long way to shaping our day, the attitude we choose to ‘put on’ will do exactly the same. We may not be able to choose what happens to us in this life but we can choose how we react to it. And we do that by deciding the attitude we choose to wear at any given moment. W. Clement Stone said: “There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative”. Wear your positive attitude with pride, not only because it is the one thing that we truly have control over but because ‘success breeds success’.
The discoveries made by quantum physics are adding scientific weight to the ‘Law of Attraction’ theory. Wear an attitude of success – and wear it with belief – and you will become a success. How can I state that with such certainty? Because the thoughts we feed our subconscious mind will ultimately shape our belief system. Our beliefs shape our actions. And our actions determine the outcome of our lives. We need to believe something before we can achieve it. Without the belief that something may work, we are not motivated to give it a try. Think about it, when was the last time you got fired up with enthusiasm about something that you knew wasn’t going to work? This is perhaps what William James was referring to when he said, “The greatest revolution of our generation is the discovery that human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives”.
Now here is something key: that belief does not have to be 100% before you start, you need enough belief in yourself to get going; the rest you can pick up along the way. Just as ‘success breeds success’, success also breeds belief. I don’t know what the exact critical mass is, the exact amount of belief you need to get going – that would be a great research topic. But let’s guesstimate it at somewhere around 60%, enough to tip the scales from the seed of possibility to the thrill of probability. Enough to turn the tide of the ‘Impossible’ to the ‘I’m possible’. And when that happens, your success is inevitable. It begins and ends with your attitude. Your success is your choice, because you get to choose your attitude. Choose an attitude of success.
Here’s to your ultimate success in business.

I agree with the notion of our ‘attitude’ being the driving factor in our lives. Everything depends on how you perceive things, challenges, failures, success, everything. This is what makes you wiser person at every step in your lives. It is attitude that makes or breaks.
